Censures DPS Management For ‘Disallowing’ Student In Online Classes
Srinagar: Committee for Fixation and Regulation of Fee of Private Schools (FFRC) Thursday said that schools are meant for imparting education to children and not for making profits.
The FFRC’s remarks came after prestigious Delhi Public School barred a students from attending the Online Classes owing to some fee issues.
Taking note of a complaint received by parents regarding disallowance of their ward in online classes, Committee for Fixation and Regulation of Fee of Private Schools (FFRC) censured the ‘Delhi Public School’, underlining that “…child cannot be made to suffer.”
The order issued by Committee’s Administrative Officer, Nazir-ul-Hassan Shah said that the office received a complaint that a student was barred from participating in the ongoing online classes.
The Committee officer while directing the School Principal to file response, if any, within one week’s time asked the latter alongside Chairperson to ensure the child is put on online classes. “Any dispute about fee will be settled, but child cannot be made to suffer”, the order remarks.
Meanwhile, the father of child has claimed that despite the express orders from the authority, the school management is yet to restore the classes of the ward.
“My daughter is currently admitted at Athwajan branch of the school in class second and I have paid the fee from time to time,” the aggrieved parent said adding, “However the management has been insisting for Transportation and Annual charges, to which I have objected.”
He said he paid fifty-six thousand instead of fifty-five thousand for twenty-months and that is what was due, however the arrogance of not letting my ward to participate in classes is uncalled for and is taking a heavy toll on her career, he said.
“I fail to understand as to why the child has been disallowed even after express orders by the Committee concerned”, the aggrieved parent said further. (GNS)
