Remedial measures to make good the loss would be put in place: Director

SRINAGAR: In order to identify gaps in the students’ learning resulted due the Covid-19 pandemic, the State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT), J&K, is conducting a rough survey across the J&K UT. The survey is aimed at addressing the issue of the learning loss through necessary remedial measure.
Coordinators from all the 10 DIETs from Kashmir Division participated in a day-long workshop at the SCERT Divisional Office at Bemina Srinagar on Saturday.
“It’s important to identify the learning gaps based on different parameters to enable the department design the remedial measures accordingly,” Abid Hussain , Joint Director SCERT, said.
“This will give us a rough idea as how much damage the Covid pandemic has inflicted upon the education in the J&K UT,” HOD SCERT said. “Once the gaps are identified, the department will conduct special remedial measures to make good the loss.”
Workshop coordinators, Dr. Nazneen and Ghulam Hassan Reshi, while giving details of the survey said the entire process would be conducted in a scientific manner.
“We’ve roped in experts, who have been a part of different studies in the J&K before, to assist us in the survey.”
