THIS is in response to an editorial published in daily KO on March 10, “Congress in limbo”. The said editorial aptly described the sad state of affairs of the grand old party of India. Gone are the days when Congress was a pan India party. Now it has been reduced to a microscopic minority due its own mistakes. The Ship of congress party started sinking after they lost power to BJP and its alliance in 2014 parliamentary polls, from that day BJP hasn’t looked back and they have taken full advantage of the crisis brewing inside congress and currently they have become an invincible party for congress to defeat. Fissures brewing inside congress party are coming to fore with many senior Congress leaders sidelining themselves from congress working committee and they have come under a banner called the G23 group to restore the past glory of congress party. G23 rebel group comprising of 23 party members advocating for change in congress’s working and they want congress to be headed by person other than the scion of Gandhi family to take on the might of the BJP.
