Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has filed a chargesheet against a Pakistan based militant and three of his associates, who were arrested from Ganderbal district of central Kashmir.
The chargesheet were submitted before the court in a case FIR No 199/2020 registered at the police station Ganderbal, a police spokesperson said.
Divulging details of the case, he said, police and army on September 14 last year busted Hizbul Mujahideen module and arrested 3 militant associates identified as Arshid Ahmad Khan of Wayil, Majid Rasool Rather and Mohd Aasif Najar, both residents of Beehama Ganderbal for hatching “criminal conspiracy for militant acts, harbouring militants and giving support to the proscribed militant organisations”.
The police spokesperson said that the investigations revealed that the arrested trio had came into contact with a Pak based Kashmiri militant Fayaz Ahmad Khan of Gutlibagh and were being handled by him from across to take up various militant and subversive activities in the district.
“After conclusion of investigations, necessary Government sanction was obtained and accordingly chargesheet has been filed before the Competent Court by Ganderbal Police U/s 7/25 IAA, 13, 18, 20, 23, 39, UA(P)A against four accused persons,” he added.
