Jammu : Director General of Police, K. Rajendra Kumar has stressed for effective monitoring and supervision at all levels in the Organization to ensure better deliverance to the people. He has asked to make safety of people prime responsibility for which rule of law is to be ensured at all costs.
Rajendra was addressing a meeting of police officers from Jammu Zone here today. After assuming the charge as DGP, Rajendra had convened his first meeting with provincial officers to take stock of the overall situation in the Zone, besides preparedness for ensuing Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
The DGP stressed upon the officers to ensure better deliverance, saying that effective monitoring and super vision at all levels would lead to better results. He said that safety of the people and their property is our motto and maintenance of law and order is mandatory for achieving our goal to prevail lasting peace in the State. Better coordination among all wings of the Organization, besides other security agencies is also necessary for ensuring the safety of the people.
Discussing the preparedness for ensuing Shri Amarnathji Yatra, the officers apprised the DGP about arrangements made with regard to security, traffic and police bandobust for the routes right from Lakhanpur to Jawahar Tunnel. He stressed for better synergy among all stakeholders to make the yatra smooth and peaceful.
Rajendra, after seeking feedback from the officers, emphasised to maintain better relations with the public at thana level. He said that people of the State have always cooperated with JKP at odd times and we have succeeded to tackle tough situation with the cooperation of people. It should be our priority to ensure quick disposal of their grievances, he said.
Rajendra said that more than 1500 jawans and officers of the force have offered sacrifices of their precious lives while protecting the people and their properties. It was due to their sacrifices that we have succeeded in bringing peace in the State. Their families are still a part of the Organization and it is our sole responsibility to think about their welfare. We should stand by them at every occasion of grief and pleasure. Rajendra visited martyrs memorial at Railhead and laid wreath on the memorial. At PHQ he was received by senior officers and a guard of honour was presented by a contingent of armed police.
