Poonch One person was killed, while his house got damaged after due to lightning and thunderstorm in border district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, police said.
Police have identified the deceased as 45-year old Muhammad Shaban son of Ali Muhammad from Loran village of Mandi.
The incident took place at around 3.30 am when Shaban was sleeping in his room. Suddenly, during thunder storm, a strong beam of light hit his house and he also came under its impact, police said.
Initially he was rushed to Mandi Hospital followed by Poonch where doctors referred him to Government Medical College Jammu but Shaban died on the way near Surankote, police said.
