POONCH: The historic Mughal Road, which remained closed for several months of winter, has been thrown open for traffic.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch Sajjad Ahmed Khan said that as per Executive Engineer, R&B the snow from Peer Ki Gali and Chhata Pani, besides areas on north side of Peer Pass, has been cleared from the road.
He said the road was slippery at certain points on the pass but it has now been opened to light motor vehicles. The road was narrow at many points and heavy traffic will be allowed after few weeks, Khan added.
He said no vehicular movement will be allowed after 4 pm and before 8 am.
However, he said in case of bad weather the movement of vehicles will not be allowed. He said the road in Pir Panjal pass area was still slippery and R&B Department was taking all the precautions.
and departments will now process the issues pending before EGoMs and GoMs and take appropriate decisions at the level of ministries and departments itself, said the statement.

It said wherever the ministries face difficulties, the Cabinet secretariat and the Prime Minister’s Office will facilitate the decision-making process.
