Shopian: Social media enthusiasts across Kashmir paid tributes to Asiya and Neelofar and a number of mournful posts splashed across the networks. Large number of internet users posted their updates along with photographs on Shopian tragedy on Facebook. Similar was the situation with other social networking and bloging sites like Twitter. The people gave vent to their feelings by alleging that the state government had failed to provide justice to the family of the victims. It is only part of the globe where guilty is encouraged and spared and victims are suppressed, wrote Muhammad Imran. His update was followed by responses from his followers who agreed with him and prayed for the departed souls.
Scores of users updated their posts urging the family members of the victims to be patient and have faith in Allah. So what culprits are roaming free, Allah will squeeze them at the Day of Judgment, wrote Jehangir Ali another user on facebook.
Meanwhile, the woman separatist leader Zamrooda Habib took out a march from Abi Guzar Srinagar which culminated at Press Enclave Srinagar. The female protestors were carrying placards and banners seeking justice for the these two women who according to protestors were raped and murdered by security forces in 2009.
On this occasion Zamrooda Habib told reporters that government must constitute an independent committee to probe the double murder and rape incident in an impartial manner. She alleged that state government succumbed to the pressure of central government and hushed up the matter.
