Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Saturday constituted a committee headed by Secretary to the Government Information Technology Department to supervise the updation of official websites of various government departments and districts of Union Territory.
In an order issued on Saturday, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi accorded sanction to the constituting of a committee, for continuously supervising the updation of official websites of various Government Department and Districts of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the order, the committee comprises of Secretary to the Government, Information Technology Department as Chairman while State Informatics Officer, National Informatics Centre (NIC), Civil Secretariat, Jammu and representative of Jammu and Kashmir e-Governance Agency (JaKeGA), to be nominated by Secretary to the Government, Information Technology Department as members.
The committee has been asked to frame SOPs to ensure that all the Government websites are updated regularly by departments/districts and also to monitor and guide NIC in designing Government websites so as to make them more informative, interactive and user-friendly.
It has also been directed to ensure that the Government websites have easy interfaces/access to all important Circulars/Notifications/Acts and to ensure that websites become easy means for accessing/enrolling in Government schemes/programmes.
