Srinagar: As the state government here initiated Voluntary Service Allowance (VSA) to the unemployed youth in the year 2009, the authorities here have kept the fate of more than 22 thousand aspirants in limbo, who had applied as the deserving persons for the allowance.
Details suggested that the total number of applications received in the year 2010-11 were 27585 in number, out of which 2861 were kept in limbo. In the year 2011-12, 42336 applications were received by the government and this year also, the authorities kept more than 6000 applications of the unemployed youth pending. During the year 2012-13, some 56178 applications for the VSA were received out of which more than 5900 were not disbursed. During the current year, the government has received some 58659 applications and this year also like the previous ones, the authorities have kept more than 8000 applications pending.
According to the details available with Kashmir News Service, state government announced, by way of financial support, a monthly Voluntary Service Allowance (VSA) to all unemployed educated youth having educational qualification of matriculation and above for the next three year. Age for eligibility is 26 years to 37 years and monthly family income should not exceed rupees 12,500. Details maintained that rupees 600 per month in favour of each eligible person who has passed the matriculation examination but not 10+2 examination. 650 per month in favour of each eligible person who has passed 10+2 examination.
Rupees 700 per month in respect of eligible persons who have passed 10+2examination and possess additional skill based qualifications such as ITI/ and other equivalent qualification. Rupees 850 per month in case of eligible persons having passed 10+2examination and who have additional professional qualification (recognized) equivalent to a three year diploma from a recognized polytechnic institution. Rupees 1000 per month in favour of eligible graduates and above below the post graduation level and rupees 1200 per month in respect of post-graduates and engineering and Medical graduates and equivalent levels in the field of computer science, technology and education.
