Converted By Free Will, Govt Must Ensure Security
Srinagar – Expressing concern over reported intimidation of new Muslims in the Zanskar area of Ladakh, the Hurriyat (G) had demanded immediate security measures for the converts.
The separatist alliance said that two of the neo-Muslims had been abducted, and called upon the government to recover them safe and sound.
It said that the seven families converting in the Padam area had embraced Islam of their own free will, and there was no involvement of any force or inducements.
It elements in the Buddhist community do not stop intimidating the converted Muslims, serious repercussions will follow, the alliance said.
