SRINAGAR: Days after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah ordered the revocation of the fixed job policy in Jammu and Kashmir; the unemployed youth Saturday urged the government to fill up the posts lying vacant in the various government departments at an earliest.
According to the reports, more than 80 thousand posts are lying vacant in various departments from the last six years with the little efforts being done on ground for the filling up of the same.
The educated unemployed youth while expressing optimism that the necessary measures shall be taken to fill on the posts on merit- accused that the Service Selection Board (SSB) is in the deep slumber, caring little about the conduction of the interviews for the posts it advertised in the past.
We wonder why the government is not taking any action over the plight of those who in large numbers have filled up the forms for the posts that SSRB advertised in the initial months of 2013. No action in actual is being taken to rectify the wrongs, said a group of university students.
They maintained further that ahead of the assembly elections of 2008, it was promised by Omar Abdullah that the thousands of posts lying vacant with the government will be filed once he assumes authority. Five and a half years have passed and in reality nothing was done on ground. What really is in the mind of the government is difficult to understand.
