Srinagar: At least two to three militants are trapped in an ongoing encounter that broke out in Kakapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday, reports said.
Hours after an encounter left three militants dead in Tral, a second gunfight broke out in Lelhar village of the district on Friday evening, various news agencies reported. The encounter, the report said, raged after a joint team of police, Army’s 50 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in the village after receiving specific information about the presence of militants.
Quoting sources, the report said that two to three militants were believed to be trapped in the village.
A senior police officer also confirmed the exchange of fire between forces and militants.
