Srinagar: Much relief to the students particularly those who are job aspirants, Government has withdrawn the current roaster regarding use of the Reading Area of SPS Library here in Kashmir capital Srinagar.
The Deputy Director Libraries and Research, Kashmir in its earlier order had asked the aspirants to use the library on a rotational basis. This decision had come under severe criticism while students were demanding free access to the library.
In a fresh order the roaster based on rotational basis has been withdrawn.
Deputy Director Libraries and Research, Kashmir in a fresh order has said that on the directions of higher authorities and in the interest of smooth functioning of the SPS Library, the Roaster regarding the use of the Reading Area of the Library on rotational basis by the borrowers, has been withdrawn.
The users will be allowed to use the Reading Area of the SPS Library strictly on first-cum-first-serve basis as per the universal practice in vogue for the Public Libraries.
