Srinagar, May 20 : Expressing deep shock and concern over the kidnapping and killing of a youth in Shopian district, CPI M state secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has demanded a speedy probe so that the culprits are brought to justice.
In a statement , Tarigami while condemning the killing of Shopian youth, has said that the culture of unidentified men has created havoc in Kashmir and police must act swiftly to expose the people behind such gruesome incidents.
Few days back a youth in Sopore was killed in a most barbaric manner. These acts of violence are not acceptable to any civilized society. The people must come forward and equivocally condemns these barbaric actions which has eaten into vitals of our society. We believe the violence begets violence and those who use violence as a means of communication are not doing any good to the society in general, he observed. Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families of Shopian and Sopore youths who were killed in cold blood, Tarigami prayed for the eternal peace to the departed souls and urged the administration to expedite the investigations so that the people behind such gruesome incidents are exposed and brought to justice.
