Srinagar : A day after historic victory in Parliamentary polls, dozens of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) activists and supporters celebrated partys victory in summer capital Srinagar.
Witnesses said that dozens of BJP activists appeared in Sher-i-Kashmir Park in city centre and started celebrations by distributing sweets and bursting fire crackers. Amid pro-BJP and pro-Narendra Modi slogans, the BJP activists and supporters started marching towards Lal Chowk the commercial hub and shouted slogans in favor of party.
Defeating the Congress led UPA, the BJP emerged as single largest party with absolute majority in the parliament. The party also bagged three seats in Jammu and Kashmir with two in Jammu and one in Ladakh.
Beating drums and dancing, they reached Press Enclave and concluded celebrations and dispersed peacefully.
