Budgam: Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested three employees of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) and recovered large quantity of sugar along with sugar-packing machine in Central Kashmirs Budgam district.
Police sources said that after receiving information that some CA&PD employees in Sheikhpora Budgam were illegally stealing sugar from the granary and were using a packaging machine to pack that sugar before selling it in black market. We raided the CA&PD granary located at Shikepora Budgam and caught red handed three employees of the department while packing the stolen sugar. We recovered 175 quintals of sugar from them. The trio is in police custody and a formal case has been registered against them, a police official .
When contacted, Director CA&PD that he has already suspended two of these employees for committing fraud and deceit.
