Srinagar: A youth from Natipora locality of Srinagar has reportedly joined militant ranks, over a fortnight after he went missing.
Bilal Manzoor Bhat of Natipora who along with his friend Irfan Ahmad Sofi went missing on December 14, 2020, on Monday purportedly released an audio message on social media announcing his decision to join militant ranks, a local news agency KDC reported.
In the audio message that has gone viral on social media, Bhat is heard saying to his parents that should not be searched since he has chosen “the way of Allah and is safe.”
His family, the report says, had filed a missing complaint with the police.
The report also quoted an unnamed police officer as saying that the authenticity of the audio was being verified.
Pertinently, Bhat and his friend went missing on the day when militants shot dead a security guard of a PDP leader in Natipora.
