BARAMULLA: Three unemployed brothers from North Kashmirs Baramulla district faced humiliation when Higher Education Minister Muhammad Akbar Lone thrashed one amoung them and allegedly tossed their documents pertaining to their Mineral Water Plant in air in full public glare. The incident occurred in front of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who was addressing the election rally at Watergam Baramulla on Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses tsaid that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was busy in addressing National Conference supporters when three brothers Muhammad Amin, Firdous Ahmed and Hilal Ahmed stood up and one amoung them namely Muhammad Amin waved his hand and tried to attract the attention of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Omar Sahab, Omar Sahab, meri baat suno, (Listen to me), Amin yelled and in desperation crossed the concertina wire. Security personnel tried to stop him, however they retreated after the three NC leaders, Muhammad Akbar Lone, Junaid Azam Matoo and Javid Ahmed Dar came down from the stage and stopped the visibly agitate Amin.
Eyewitnesses tsaid that in a fit of rage NC leaders caught hold of him while Muhammad Akbar Lone alleged thrashed him and tossed his documents in air. I am telling you to stop yelling, visibly Lone shouted at the protestor.
Government Forces immediately after that swung into action and directed Muhammad Amin and his two brothers to leave the venue.
This development attracted the attention of media persons present there who followed the agitated youth. Look at the media. They are always after something which could create sensation, Chief Minister said after seeing media men encircling the said protestor.
Talking to media on spot, Muhammad Amin denied the charges that he belongs to Peoples Democratic Party. We are five brothers and all are unemployed. We have no affiliation with any political party. Neither we belong to National Conference nor PDP but we had arrived here with a hope that Chief Minister would listen to us, Amin told reporters.
He said that four years ago they formally did registration of their Mineral Water Plant and for this purpose invested Rs 25 to 30 lakhs. We completed every formality while as lone has also been sanctioned in our favour but there was no disbursement. We repeatedly brought the issue into the notice of the government but no one gave heed to our pleas, he said adding that the concerned department top officials are hell bent to dash our dreams.
When contacted Minster for Higher Education Muhammad Akbar Lone tsaid that the fellow tried to disrupt the rally and, I simply told him that he should enact drama in front of the Chief Minister, Lone said.
