Anantnag: Scores of Government Employees from South Kashmirs Anantnag district Monday staged a protest against Rail Authorities demanding additional bogies to be attached with the train so that overloading menace could be eliminated. The protestors halted Passenger train near Khanabal and raised slogans against Rail Authorities.
Eyewitnesses said that the protestors blocked railway track for all but four hours due to which passengers faced great inconvenience.
Protesters accused that the train services were stated in valley with much hype but at the end of the day, the tall claims of the authorities turned out to be a mere hoax.
Overloading in trains has become the order of the day and it has become difficult for passengers especially female travelers to travel in train. We demand that either more bogies to be added to the train or another train service should be started, a protester Fayaz Ahmed said.
A Railway official said that they are mulling to add more bogies to the present two trains that run on the tracks at present. He said that the process will take time and the job cannot be done within days.
