Srinagar: Presence of a tin box wrapped in polythene created panic in Braripora area of Dalgate Srinagar on Monday afternoon.
Eyewitnesses said that police suspended traffic on Dalgate road and called bomb disposal squad after it found a tin box wrapped in white polythene lying on the road. Police had apprehensions that the tin may be containing explosive material.
Reports said that to avoid panic in the area bustling with tourists, the Bomb Disposal Squad dragged the tin box towards Sulaiman Teng and made all arrangements to diffuse it.
However much to their relief the squad found box containing some food stuff, a police official said adding that traffic was suspended as a precautionary measure and for the safety of the people. (CNS)
