Srinagar: Soon after the road accident at Solina left a woman dead, City traffic police issued new traffic plan along Jahangir Chowk- Ram Bagh Flyover Corridor from Ist May, 2014.
In view of construction on Jahangir Chowk-Rambagh flyover, limited number of vehicles will be allowed to travel from Jahangir Chowk to Budgam and adjacent areas.
According to statement issued by city traffic Police, only limited number of 407 passenger vehicles bound to Budgam and adjacent areas will be allowed to travel through Rambagh route. Traffic Police city Srinagar has issued permission to limited number of 407 passenger vehicles which they have to display on the front wind screen.
As limited number of vehicles will be available in Jahangir Chowk for Budgam, Chadoora, Natipora, Rangreth, Nowgam, Kanipora and Charar-i-Sharief etc, the passengers can avail service for such routes from Batamaloo with effect from 01-05-2014.
The Sumo vehicles which are not registered to any stand in Srinagar city will also be diverted on bypass to Tengpora to reach Baramulla.
These measures are being taken to decongest the areas falling in and around the Flyover Corridor. These diversions are bound to cause inconvenience to passengers travelling towards Budgam and adjoining areas but cooperation of the people will be highly appreciated till the flyover project is completed.
