Srinagar – Taking a fresh initiative to ensure the delivery of governance at ground level the District administration today devised a new cleanliness and encroachment free Anantnag district.
In this direction the DDC Anantnag Farooq Ahmad Shah today convened a meeting of Tehsildars and Executive officers of the district.
The Tehsildars and Executive officers were asked to ensure that no construction is allowed on the agriculture land in the district, an official said.
He said that the officials were also directed to stop encroachment on state land, water bodies including irrigation canals, flood channels and springs and demolish the existing ones in the district.
The Executive officers along with Tehsildars were also asked to conduct market checking on weekly basis and remove all the encroachments from footpaths, he said.
They were also told to submit weekly assessment report to the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Anantnag.
Shah also directed the officials not to allow any sort of construction whether commercial or residential on Khanabal-Mehandi Kadal stretch of road and KP road
The DDC announced that soon the administration will make Pahalgam free from any kind of encroachments by launching a week long drive which will be later followed in other mini towns of Anantnag district.
ADC Anantnag, Ghulam Muhammad Dar and Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Nisar Ahmad Wani were also present in the meeting.
The conservation of agriculture land, protection of water bodies particularly springs and utilizing state land for the benefit of people is my utmost priority and no laxity on the part of any officials will be accepted, said DDC.
He said that any sort of violation will be dealt strictly.
