SRINAGAR- A fresh drive has been started in district Srinagar against those Food Business Operators, who are running their business without obtaining licenses and registration, mandatory under Food Safety & Standards Act.
As per the statement of the Food & Drug Administration, Department, sixty complaints have been filed in the competent court in this regard. Under Eat Right Challenge, which is a flag ship program of FSSAI, district Srinagar has to increase the number of licenses, registration by 20 percent up to March 2021, the statement reads, adding that carrying Food business without obtaining license is an offence under FSS Act and carries a punishment or imprisonment up to six months and fine up to five lacs.
The Department has asked all Food Business Operators to obtain license or registration as per their annual turnover by accessing website wwwfoscosfssai.gov.in .
