SRINAGAR: As if flipping the poll plank of Afzal Guru’s hanging, the ruling National Conference Tuesday endorsed the secret execution as ‘legal’. Mustafa Kamal, NC leader and Farooq Abdullah’s brother, said, the law of the land punished Guru. It was the decision of the Law. Whosoever wages a war against the country has to face the music. Now some people want to give it emotional color and blame Farooq Abdullah for the execution of the Muhammad Afzal Guroo.
He further said that Farooq Abdullah will file charge sheet against former Indian Home Secretary R.K.Singh, who had revealed that Farooq as well as his son and J&K’s chief minister Omar Abdullah knew all the details about the hanging. Farooq Abdullah means business and he is going to do what he has stated. Singh was in a hurry to see Afzal Guroo hanged, said Kamala, also a legislator and NC’s Additional General Secretary. He said it was the Supreme Court of India, not Farooq Abdullah or any other NC leader, who hanged Guroo.
Kamal said that some people were trying to give an impression that Farooq Abdullah was directly responsible for the execution of Afzal Guroo. It is an established fact that Union Government neither informed Farooq Abdullah nor Ghulam Nabi Azad about the execution of Guroo. It is also an established fact that Guru was not given a proper chance to defend himself. Farooq Abdullah is right and it is true that R.K.Singh who joined BJP showed eagerness to put Afzal to death, he said.
