Srinagar: At least four more people succumbed to coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, rasing the number of virus related fatalities in the Union Territory to 1622.
In Kashmir Valley, two more people lost their battle with the deadly infection, while two others died of the infection in Jammu divison, officials said Friday. Among the victims from the Valley, officials said were a 65-year-old woman from Shahlaal Kupwara and a 67-year-old man from Pran Bawan Anantnag. Two other victims from the Union Territory were residents of Jammu city.
With these deaths, the total fatality count in the Valley has reached 1072 and 550 in the Jammu region.
Srinagar district with 402 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (287), Baramulla (159), Budgam (98), Pulwama (86), Kupwara (80), Anantnag (77), Doda (52), Bandipora(49), Rajouri (49), Kulgam (48), Ganderbal (37), Shopian (36), Udhampur (36), Kathua (35), Samba (26), Poonch (22), Ramban (18), Kishtwar(16), and Reasi (9).
661 More Test Covid-19 Positive
Jammu and Kashmir reported on Friday 661 new cases of coronavirus, taking the total number of people infected bythe virus across the Union Territory to 105376.
While Kashmir Valley reported 408 new cases on Friday, the remaining 253 were confirmed by the officials from Jammu division.
Giving district-wise details, they said Srinagar reported 169 cases, Baramulla 63, Budgam 53, Pulwama 22, Kupwara 27, Anantnag 16, Bandipora 21, Ganderbal 28, Kulgam 6, Shopian 3, Jammu 98, Rajouri 10,Udhampur 50, Doda 17, Kathua 8, Poonch 2, Samba 12, Kishtwar 36, Ramban 10 and Reasi 10.
Moreover, officials said, 539 more patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 208 from Jammu Division and 331 from Kashmir Division.
