Pattan: Hundreds of residents of Tappar area in Pattan town spent whole night on roads after miscreants pelted stones on Darul-Uloom Nizamia where orphan kids receive education.
Residents said that at around 11 on Wednesday night, unidentified persons attacked the Darul Uloom with stones and smashed its window panes. All the twenty students present inside the Darul Uloom were frightened and started crying.
People came out from their houses and found no one present around there. After an hour when people returned their homes, miscreants again attacked the Darul-Uloom with stones. We all came out and again found no one around, Sarpanch Tapper Bashir Ahmed said adding that they shifted all the children to a safer place.
He said that again when people retreated, stone-pelting started and, after the third incident, people spent whole night on the roads. We called Army and they also failed nab the culprits, Sarpanch said.
People said that they were surprised how the miscreants could attack Darul Uloom which is located very close to an Army camp.
SDPO Pattan confirmed that miscreants attacked Darul Uloom with stones and told CNS that police would look into the matter.
A top Army official of the area said that if need arises he would call the locals and concerned Army unit and would try to nab the culprits.
