Uri- Army on Monday detonated unexploded shell fired from across the border last week in Kamalkote area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
There was heavy exchange of gunfire and shells between the armies of India and Pakistan last Friday in Kamalkote and Hajipeer sectors of Uri, leaving four civilians and two soldiers dead.
A shell was found unexploded in residential house at Kamalkote and was defused by Army’s Bomb disposal squared ( BDS) today, reported news agency GNS.
SDPO Uri confirmed that the live shell was detonated in the area. He said a police team was also on spot.
According to reports several live shells are lying in Hajipeer and Kamalkote sectors after last Friday’s incident.
