Srinagar: Large number of blankets and other donated stuff was gutted in a fire incident at a Yateem Trust here in the old city.
Reports said a fire broke out in Al-Masoomeen Yateem Trust, located at Shribhat in Zadibal quarter of the city damaging a large number of new blankets and other stuff present with the trust.
Sources added that fire was brought under control by fire services with the assistance of the local police.
Although there was no loss of life or injury to anyone, the Trust suffered heavy losses. The cause of the fire was said to be short circuit.
Pertinently, Al- Masoomeen Yateem Trust is a non-government, apolitical organization established as a recognized charitable trust with a clear aim and declared objective to serve the orphans, widows, ill, down-trodden and other needy persons.
