Srinagar: Association of ISM Doctors J&K (AID JK) has expressed their anguish over the comments made by J&K NRHM on its official social networking page.
The status on the official social networking site of NRHM J&K depicts that Rs 06 Crores (out of total 14000 Crores Sanctioned to J&K NRHM) were released to the Department of ISM for purchase of AYUSH medicines for almost 500 PHCs/SDHs/District Hospitals identified as co-location AYUSH units in the state from the year 2007 to 2014.
State NRHM itself has admitted on its official Social Networking site that they have recommended Rs 20.00 Crores for purchase of AYUSH Medicines for the year 2014-15 after recommendation by Director ISM J&K strictly as per standing guidelines of Govt of India and the unit cost for each PHC, CHC, DH fixed by Govt of India. Going by the yard stick of unit cost fixed by Govt of India the total amount required per year comes to 20 crore as rightly recommended by Director ISM J&K for the year 2014-15 (recommended repeatedly by Director ISM I the past also) and rightly admitted by NRHM J&K that Director ISM has recommended Rs 20.00 Crore for 2014-15.
The statement asked then how NRHM JK justifies Rs 6.00 Crores for last 8 Years which by no stretch of imagination is sufficient for providing of uninterrupted essential AYUSH supply of drugs to more than 500 Institutions where about 1000 AYUSH doctors and paramedics are working.
NRHM has received about Rs14,000 Crore of grants from Ministry of health & Family Welfare Govt of India and out of 14000 Crores Rs 6 Crore were spent on mainstreaming of AYUSH is a cruel joke. The claims of official facebook page of J&K NRHM is nothing but a white lie and rubbing salt on the entire AYUSH fraternity and the very irresponsive behavior of authorities towards public for providing of choice of treatment to patients, which is defected by none other than our own officers entrusted with the job of convergence of all resources as envisaged under the guidelines of NRHM by Govt of India, so as to provide care 24×7 health care involving all human resource available under AYUSH/Allopathic sector.
The Association hailed the services rendered by AYUSH Doctors under NRHM to strengthen Primary Health Care in far-flung and inaccessible areas of the state. Despite delivering their best (as is evident from commendable remarks of their superiors) their salary should have been at par with their Allopathic counterparts as was initially during the first two years of NRHM. Suddenly for unknown reasons the salary of AYUSH Doctors has been reduced which is total injustice and against the Honble Court decisions and policy of the State Govt who have already brought AYUSH Doctors at Par with their Allopathic counterparts.
Further it has been clarified that the Association of ISM doctors J&K ( AID JK) is a well recognized Association with its clear objectives to safeguard the interests of AYUSH doctors in the state and for providing quality services to people of the state through AYUSH. AID JK has no option but to appeal to Authorities at helm to rectify the wrong procedures of putting AYUSH Doctors on casuality/night duty roasters and in 24×7 duties where they conduct not only deliveries but also conduct postmortem and attend medico-legal cases on behest of their immediate officers.
