Will discuss issue of providing security to panches at UHQ meeting
Srinagar Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Monday said that he would discuss the issue of providing security to panchayat members in the next meeting of Unified Headquarters to ensure their safety and smooth functioning.
Condemning the killing of Naib-Sarpanch from district Baramulla Mohammad Shafi Teli, the Chief Minister described the act heinous and against public cause. He said that establishment of powerful and functional Panchayat Raj in the State is his governments commitment. He said that all efforts would be made to safeguard the Panches and Sarpanches and provide them conducive-atmosphere to work for the good of people.
Omar Abdullah conveyed his grief and sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
