BANGALORE: Irans English Language 24×7 movie channel, iFILM is broadcasting mega serial Prophet Joseph from March 18. The drama recounts the story of Prophet Joseph according to Quranic text.
Prophet Joseph was the beloved son of Prophet Jacob, who was sent away by his jealous brothers. Joseph grew up as a slave in ancient Egypt, far from his home, before becoming Egypts grand vizier and later reuniting with his family and father.
The serial originally made in Persian and dubbed in English is directed by Farajollah Salahshoor and the cast includes Mostafa Zamani, Elham Hamidi, Katayoon Riyahi, Abbas Amiri-Moqaddam, Jafar Dehghan, Mahmood Pakniyyat, Rahim Norooaee, Leila Bolookat and JahanbakhshSoltani .
The serial is set in the Amarna period of ancient Egypt. Producers have spent 2,000,000$ for building cities and creating costumes for the serial.
The series Prophet Joseph will be broadcast on iFILM from March 18th 2014, at 20:00 GMT and will be aired every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Each episode will be rebroadcast three times the next day to ensure viewers in different time zones do not miss it, an iFILM statement said.
According to iFILM, Prophet Joseph can be watched on the following platforms: Galaxy 19, Telstar 19, Eutelsat Hotbird13B, Badr 4, Express AM44, Optus D2, Thaicom 5, Intelsat 20, Paksat1R and Nilesat 201.
