Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has allocated charge of various departments among his advisors, Farooq Khan, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar and Baseer Ahmad Khan.
The advisors shall exercise powers of the Minister under the Transaction of Business of the Government of Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir Rules, 2019 in respect of Departments allocated to them.
For the purpose of official correspondence, Advisors Farooq Khan, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar and Baseer Ahmad Khan shall continue to be designated as Advisor (F), Advisor (B) & Advisor (BK) respectively.
The departments allocated to Advisor (F) include Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Social Welfare, Tribal Affairs, Labour and Employment, Youth Services and Sports, ARI and Trainings, Cooperative, Election, Haj & Auqaf, Agriculture Production & Farmer’s Welfare and Horticulture.
The portfolios of Advisor (B) include Health & Medical Education, Public Works (R&B), Jal Shakti, Transport, Animal/ Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Revenue, School Education and Higher Education, Skill Development
The departments allocated to Advisor (BK) include Power Development, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation & Reconstruction, Culture, Tourism, Floriculture, Planning, Development and Monitoring Industries & Commerce
‘(B) shall advise the Lieutenant Governor on matters relating to Home Department and coordinate activities of the police including the Terror Monitoring Group, Force Deployment, Intelligence Work, Preparedness for Law & Order, Operational Effectiveness, Counter Cross Border propaganda, Jails, FSL, Prosecution, Narcotics Control and POCSO Matters,” reads an order.
