Reaches out to Ashipora Langate, Conducts Awareness Camps in Shopian
Srinagar – In a step towards bringing more unbanked areas in the gambit of banking J&K Bank organized an awareness camp at Ashipora, Langate through its Cluster Office (North) Kupwara.
The Banks Zonal Head (North) M S Kaboo inaugurated the camp in presence of Engineer Abdul Rashid MLA, Langate.
Speaking on the occasion, Zonal Head (North) said, Following the Banks mission statement of serving to empower, the leadership is keen to see all the unbanked areas under the umbrella of J&K Bank, so that an era of economic development would begin at these places.
The bank will be shortly sending an Apple Advance team to the area, he added.
Present on the occasion, Engineer Abdul Rashid said that the bank should open its branch in the area to tap the potential of the area so that people can prosper & progress.
The MLA & the people praised the efforts of the bank in reaching out to the people living in the unbanked & far flung areas.
Given an introduction of credit & deposit schemes of the bank, the people attending the camp were also appraised about the Financial Literacy & Credit Counseling (FLCC) programs of the bank.
Cluster Head Fayaz Ahmad Sidiqui concluded the camp by presenting the vote of thanks.
Meanwhile, the bank conducted few awareness camps in Shopian through its Financial Literacy and Credit Counseling (FLCC) Centre under the aegis of Lead Bank Office organized. These camps were conducted in Government Girls Higher Secondary School Shopian, at Keller and in Town Hall Shopian.
The programme at Town Hall was conducted in collaboration with District Handicrafts Department Shopian. More than sixty artisans and staff members of the Handicrafts Departments participated in the camp.
Facilitator FLCC Shopian M A Jan gave an overview of all banking schemes for artisans and craftsmen especially Artisan Credit Card, Dastakar Finance, special schemes for promoting Handicrafts, Handlooms and other Cottage Industries attracting interest subsidy of almost 10%.
The Incharge District Handicrafts Office Shopian assured the participants of the technical support from the department and encouraged the artisans for taking up small artisans for taking up small handicrafts or handloom ventures.
Earlier at the GHSS Shopian M A Jan along with LDM Shopian M Saleem Wani and other officers highlighted various schemes of the bank particularly Education Loan Scheme, Laptop Loan Scheme and Scooty Loan for students and Housing Loan Scheme, Car Loan Scheme and Consumer Loan Scheme for staff of the school.
The participants raised some queries after the deliberations which were satisfactorily replied.
Principal of the school hailed the organizers for conducting the awareness camp.
The center also held an awareness camp at Keller in which FLCC and Lead Bank Office Shopian persuaded people to open accounts in the banks and avail of the various schemes offered by banks for public.
District Development Commissioner Shopian appreciated the steps taken by the JK Bank for benefit of the people.
LDM Shopian M Saleem Wani assured people for financial assistance in every profitable venture to be taken up by prospective entrepreneurs. Grievances of some customers were also redressed on spot.
