SRINAGAR: The authorities on Tuesday issued warnings of high danger avalanche in several parts of Jammu and Kashmir state.
A warning issued jointly by Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE) and disaster management cell said high danger avalanches could occur at higher reaches ofUri, Tangdhar, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, Budgam, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora and Kargil.
A disaster management official told GNS that there is no need to panic but people are advised to avoid movement during snowfall and not to venture in avalanche prone areas. He said that the warning will remain in effect for next 24 hours.
