Cases Cross 90K Mark, 584 More Positive
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported on Thursday fourteen more coronavirus deaths, including two young women, taking the number of fatalities since the outbreak of pandemic in the Union Territory to 1418.
While Kashmir valley saw nine more deaths related to Covid-19, five others were reported from Jammu division, officials said. Among the victims from the Valley, they said included a 55-year-old woman from Lal Bazar, who died at SKIMS Soura, nine days after she was admitted there. Besides her, another death of a 75-year-old from man was reported from Nawabagh locality of Lal Bazar. The septuagenarian died at SKIMS, 20 days after he was admitted to the tertiary care hospital
Besides them, officials said a 29-year-old woman from Watlar area of Ganderbal also died at SKIMS Soura, a day after admitted at the tertiary care hospital. The other fatalities, they said included a 70-year-old man from Gurez, a 95-year-old from Natipora, a 75-year-old man from Alamgari Bazar, a 70-year-old from Bagh-e-Mehtab, and a 65-year-old man from Dhobi Mohalla Srinagar.
Also, officials said, a 22-year-old from Ganderbal died a day after she was admitted to SKIMS Soura.
In Jammu division, they said three deaths were reported from Jammu district, and one each from Doda and Poonch.
Among others, the victims, officials said included a 77-year-old from New Plot Jammu and a 58-year-old man from R S Pura besides a 74-year-old man from Mendhar Poonch, who died at SKIMS Soura, 12 days after he was admitted there.
With these deaths, the fatality count has reached 949 in Valley and 469 in Jammu region.
Srinagar district with 342 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (243), Baramulla (137), Budgam (91), Pulwama (79), Kupwara (71), Anantnag (71), Kulgam (46), Bandipora(43), Rajouri (45), Doda (43), Shopian (35), Ganderbal (33), Kathua (30), Udhampur (27), Samba (25), Poonch (23), Kishtwar(14), Ramban (12), and Reasi (7).

Coronavirus cases in Jammu and Kashmir crossed 90000-mark on Thursday, as 584 more people, including twenty three travelers tested positive for virus, taking the total number of infected people across the Union Territory to 90166.
While Kashmir valley detected 392 fresh cases of Covid-19, the remaining 192 were confirmed by the officials from the Jammu division.
Giving district-wise details, officials said, Srinagar reported 127, Budgam 19, Baramulla 104, Pulwama 30, Kupwara 40, Anantnag 27, Bandipora 9, Ganderbal 27, Kulgam 7, Shopian 2, Jammu 103, Rajouri 3, Udhampur 12, Doda 15, Kathua 12, Poonch 5, Samba 13, Kishtwar 22, Ramban 3 and Reasi 4.
Moreover, officials said, 710 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals— 399 from Jammu Division and 311 from Kashmir Valley.
