Srinagar: A Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) worker on Tuesday allegedly abused and threatened a senior medical officer after he didn’t attend his phone call due to his engagement in government held programme.
The BJP worker identified as Ali Mohammad barged into the office of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Budgam Dr Tajamul Hussain and allegedly abused and threatened him for not picking up his phone call, news agency KDC reported. CMO Budgam was attending ‘My Town My Pride’ programme when the BJP worker had made a phone call on his number.
“BJP worker along with his PSO’s barged into my office, abused and threatened me of dire consequence just for a pity reason for not picking up his phone call. He might have killed me if there were not my other colleagues around,” Hussain said.
Station House Officer (SHO) Budgam, Mehboob Banday told KDC that they have received complaints from both the parties and further investigations were going on.
Meanwhile, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) has strongly condemned the alleged inhuman and savage behavior by a political worker and said that “hooliganism and barbarous” acts shown by him is a black spot on him being a public representative.
DAK President, Dr Suhail Naik termed the incident unfortunate and demanded exemplary punishment for those involved in this crime.
