Apropos your editorial “Perpetually In Protest?” (Kashmir Observer Sept 18), I earnestly appeal my Muslim brethren not to get provoked at every filthy move aimed at denigrating our religion or the revered persons. It has now become an easy but effective tactics for some mischievous elements to put us on psychological toes, these condemnable things will get cropped up time and again, shall we have to protest always.
I think it is not advisable to respond to these unscrupulous and devil elements by protesting and agitating. Let us not give any attention to these filthy actions, the strange thing about our reactions to such heinous moves is that for a short span of time we get spontaneously united vowing to crush such elements and few abuses here and there including US and its allies.
We should instead focus on certain basic issues confronting ummah.
Do we really have any concern about our unity?, Do we have any realization of our untapped resources being at the disposal of Muslim countries? Do we have any say in the global polity? Do we have any regulating power on the economic issues? How much mastery do we have on issues pertaining to science and technology? Have we created any international fund to promote quality research in Muslim countries? How many products from Muslim countries do find place in the international market? Do we have any armed or economic alliance among Muslim countries to defend our legitimate rights and interests? Kindly compare GDP of Muslim nations (barring few) with other countries, how many research papers are we able to produce. What is the fate of our research institutes and universities keeping in view our past legacy? Then what we are crying for. Let us learn from our mistakes and create an honorable niche for ourselves .we should dedicate our time, energy and resources to build a new world order .
