Srinagar: Police on Saturday registered a case against a blog for publishing and propagating militancy related ideology with the intention to achieve goal of separating Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir from Union of India.
In a statement issued here, a police spokesperson said that through some reliable sources, Police Station Kothi Bagh received information that “propagandist material” was being uploaded and circulated through a website URL https//kashmirfight.wordpress.com
“These posts uploaded on the said URL are not only prejudicial to the integrity, sovereignty of country but threat to maintenance of peace and tranquility as the handler of the above said URL is propagating secessionist and militancy related ideology with the intention to achieve goal of separating UT of J&K from Union of India,” the police spokesperson said.
The blog, he said had released list of politicians, media persons, public figures besides militant outfit Lashkar-I-Islam with the intention to create fear psychosis among the individuals.
“The website/URL is running as a propaganda tool against lawful actions and policies of Government with aim to disrupt peace and thus provoking common people to resort to illegal activities,” the police spokesperson said.
He said taking cognizance, police filed a case FIR No. 82/2020 under relevant section of law and started further investigation in this matter.
The police spokesperson cautioned people not to pay any heed to such provocative and derogative posts and importantly not to further share such unlawful posts as that may earn legal consequences.
He said the case has also sent a resounding message across the circles of such elements, “propagandists and criminals” that whatsoever they may be, and whatever their level and degree of their evil planning, they cannot escape from the clutches of law enforcing agencies.
