SRINAGAR: Reacting to Pakistani Prime Minster Nawaz Sharifs invitation to India for talks on Kashmir, separatist leadership Wednesday welcomed the initiative but cautioned that the issue cannot be resolved without taking Kashmiri leadership on board.
Hurriyat Conference (G) led by Syed Ali Geelani while terming the announcement a welcome step, stated that the Kashmir must be resolved in accordance with the resolutions adopted by United Nations (UN) and that no dialogue process will be result oriented without taking the Kashmirs leadership on board. The amalgam clarified further that it was not against the dialogue process but the same must be Kashmir centric and in accordance to UN.
Hurriyat Conference (M) led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while welcoming the announcement expressed optimism that the talks will be result oriented and fruitful when held. We hope that the steps taken by Pakistan will be appreciated by India and talks on Kashmir will soon be resumed. The only necessity is that Kashmirs pro-freedom leadership must be taken on board.
Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Mohammad Yasin Malik said both the countries must side line the trade activities and prioritize the Kashmir resolution. World disputes are resolved through dialogues but the fact is the credibility of dialogue process in South Asia has receded, said Malik, adding that the talks must be time bound and Kashmir centric.
The four generations have been destroyed due to Kashmir conflict and both the countries (India and Pakistan) must show serious attitude for Kashmir resolution. The Kashmir dispute is not a mere feud between India and Pakistan but it is the future of the people of Kashmir. No one will be allowed to undermine us.
