52 Security Men Among 824 New Cases
Srinagar: At least fifteen people, including a young woman succumbed to coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, taking the fatality count due to the virus in the Union Territory to 1148
While eleven more Covid-10 deaths were reported from Jammu division of the UT, four others were confirmed by officials from the Kashmir Valley—two from Pulwama and one each from Bandipora and Shopian respectively.
About the victims from Jammu division, officials said seven were residents of Jammu district and one each from Udhampur, Doda, Samba and Ramban. Among the victims, they said included a 24-year-old woman from Roop Nagar, a 62-year-old man from Simlar Camp, a 60-year-old woman from Kunjwani, a 60-year-old man from Narwal and a 61-year-old woman from Ustad Mohalla.
In Kashmir, among those who succumbed to the infection included a 60-year-old man from Tral, who died at SKIMS Soura here, a doctor said.
Also, a 55-year-old man from Bongam Shopian died at the tertiary care hospital, eight days after he was admitted and diagnosed with Covid pneumonia with respiratory failure.
“He died due to cardiopulmonary arrest,” the doctor said.
With these deaths, 1148 people have died due to covid-19 including 827 from Kashmir Valley and 320 from Jammu division.
52 Security Men Among 824 New Cases
Meanwhile Jammu and Kashmir reported on Monday 824 new cases of coronavirus, including 82 travelers and 52 security personnel, taking the total number of people infected by the virus across the Union Territory to 73014.
While Jammu division reported 540 fresh cases of Covid-19, the remaining 284 were confirmed by officials in Kashmir Valley.
Giving district wise-details, officials said that Srinagar reported 105 cases, Budgam 27, Baramulla 26, Pulwama 33, Anantnag 18, Bandipora 9, Kupwara 44, Ganderbal 13, Kulgam 1, Shopian 8, Jammu 337, Rajouri 52, Udhampur 38, Kathua 37, Doda 11, Samba 29, Poonch 10, Ramban 1, Reasi 14 and Kishtwar 11.
Moreover, they said, 1408 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals 831 from Jammu Division and 577 from Kashmir Valley.
