Srinagar: At least eighteen more people succumbed to coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, taking the number of fatalities due to virus in the Union Territory to 1044.
While nine more coronavirus deaths were reported from Jammu division, the rest were confirmed from Kashmir valley by the officials here. Among the victims in Valley included a 68-year-old woman from Pattan Baramulla, who died at SKIMS Soura, 11 days after admitted to the tertiary care hospital.
Officials said an 82-year-old woman from Takiyabal Sopore died at the SKIMS hospital, 12 days after he was admitted. Also, a 75-year-old man from Magam Budgam who was admitted to the hospital on September 19 also died at the hospital, they said.
A 75-year-old man from Ramban died four days after he was admitted to thye hospital, officials said. They said that a 65-year-old man from Kralapora Kupwara, admitted with bilateral Community Acquired Pneumonia died a day he was admitted at a hospital here.
Besides them, a 60-year-old man from Qamarwari who was admitted with bilateral CAP on September 15 died at SMHS hospital, they said.
A 55-year-old man from Alochi Bagh Srinagar died nine days after he was admitted to CD hospital, one of the exclusive facilities for the management of the covid-19.
Regarding Jammu cases, the officials said among other the victims included a 60-year-old woman from Gandhi Nagar, a 75-year-old woman from Talab Tillo, a 60-year-old man from Purani Mandi and an 80-year-old from Gandhi Nagar.
With these deaths, the toll in Jammu and Kashmir due to Covid-19 reached 1044.
106 Security Men Among 1235 New Cases
Jammu and Kashmir reported on Tuesday 1235 new cases of coronavirus, including 106 army, BSF and CRPF personnel besides seven minors and two doctors, taking the total number of people infected by the virus in Union Territory to 66261.
Giving district-wise breakup of the cases, official sources said that Srinagar reported 210, Budgam 59, Baramulla 30, Pulwama 62, Anantnag 28, Bandipora 36, Kupwara 22, Ganderbal 21, Kulgam 12, Shopian 19, Jammu 253, Rajouri 68, Udhampur 64, Kathua 41, Doda 98, Samba 52, Poonch 73, Ramban 35, Reasi 15 and Kishtwar 37.
