
Srinagar– The Jammu and Kashmir Government has constituted a panel to examine the issues related to the regularisation of casual, seasoned labourers or other workers in the region.
According to an official order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the committee will be chaired by the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir and will include senior officials from key departments, including Finance, Planning, Law, and the General Administration Department. The Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister will also be a member.
“The committee will consist of Chief Secretary, Chairman, Additional Chief Secretary, Member, Administrative Secretary, Finance Department Member, Administrative Secretary, General Administration Department Member, Administrative Secretary, Planning, Development & Monitoring Department Member, Administrative Secretary, Department of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs Member,” the order states.
“The Committee shall examine various issues, including humanitarian, legal, and financial, related to the regularization of Casual, Seasonal Labourers or Other Workers etc. in Jammu and Kashmir, and suggest a comprehensive way forward,” the order states.
The General Administration Department will service the committee, and it has been tasked with submitting its report within six months.
