
Srinagar- Holi was celebrated with traditional fervor across Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, uniting people from different communities in a vibrant display of colors, music, and festivity.
In Jammu, revelers smeared colors, danced to drum beats, and exchanged sweets, with members of different communities joining in the celebrations. The city buzzed with young enthusiasts moving through localities, drenched in festive hues.
Security forces, including the Army, BSF, and CRPF, marked the occasion at their posts along the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC), playing with colors and embracing the festive spirit.
In Kashmir, Hindu and Sikh communities, alongside security personnel, observed Holi with joy. Away from their families, Army and paramilitary personnel gathered at their camps, dancing to popular Holi songs and applying colors to one another. Tourists also joined in, receiving warm wishes from locals.
Maharaja Bazaar, known for its festival-related products, offered special discounts, drawing enthusiastic buyers. The celebrations extended to the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, where grand festivities took place.
Army officers organized Holi Milan programs with villagers, distributing sweets and engaging children in the celebrations, further strengthening the spirit of unity and festivity.
