Srinagar- Few areas in the higher reaches of Kashmir received fresh snowfall, while rains lashed widespread parts of the valley, officials here said on Tuesday.
Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Kokernag, parts of Kupwara and Baramulla, and other areas in the higher reaches of Kashmir received fresh snowfall.
They said during the last 24 hours, widespread rain was recorded in the valley, including in Srinagar.
The wet weather lowered the day temperatures in Kashmir, decreasing the normal maximum temperature by three to nine degrees across the valley.
The meteorological department said the weather will likely improve later in the day, and would stay mainly dry till March 10.
