Srinagar- Authorities have decided not to allow funeral prayers of Dr. Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi, father-in-law of Mirwaiz Kashmir Dr Moulvi Umer Farooq, at Jamia Masjid Nowhatta Srinagar, sources disclosed.
The sources said that the authorities have decided so as to apparently ‘prevent any law and order situation’ in the area.
“The family of Dr. Sibtain has also been conveyed about the decision by the authorities,” they said.
according to Mirwaiz Manzil, the funeral prayers will now be offered at 2 pm at Masjid Wazir Muhammad Khan, Baghat Barzulla.
Pertinent to mention here that the family of Dr. Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi, who also happens to be the brother of incumbent MLA Pampore Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi, had announced the funeral prayers at Jamia Masjid Srinagar after Zuhr (afternoon) prayers today.
