Jammu- The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department has issued a notification under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, defining “audio/video electronic” evidence for official use.
As per an order, recordings from mobile phones, tablets, CCTV cameras, body-worn cameras, and other digital equipment used by authorized police officers will be considered valid.
Additionally, any electronic device authorized by the Police or Home Department will also be recognized. Officers assigned ICJS/CCTNS IDs will be deemed authorized to handle such evidence.
