Srinagar- Traffic movement on the 270-km Jammu-Srinagar national highway was restored on Friday morning, officials said.
Traffic on the highway was suspended Thursday evening due to slippery conditions owing to snowfall in the Banihal sector.
An official said that traffic movement has been restored on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, with passenger vehicles plying from both sides, while heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) will be allowed shortly.
Commuters have been advised to follow lane discipline, warning that overtaking could lead to congestion and action under the Motor Vehicles Act, official said.
However, the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) Road, Mughal Road, Sinthan Road, and Bhaderwah-Chamba Road remain closed amid fresh snowfall.
