Tehran- Iran’s nuclear program remains peaceful and fully compliant with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei reaffirmed on Monday.
During his weekly press conference, Baghaei stressed that Iran will not back down from its rights under international regulations.
He also noted that Iran is in consultations regarding the timing and venue of the next round of negotiations with the European Troika.

Responding to a question on whether Iranian officials would attend the funeral of Hezbollah’s former secretary-general Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on February 23, Baghaei confirmed that Iran will participate at a high level in this “extremely significant ceremony.”
He also revealed that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held what he described as “positive talks” with his Lebanese counterpart regarding the ongoing crisis over flights between the two countries, assuring him that Iran will not allow third-party interference in this matter.

Iran urges Syrians to determine their future without foreign interference
Addressing the situation in Syria, Baghaei reaffirmed Tehran’s firm and principled stance, stating that Syrians must determine their country’s future without foreign intervention and in a manner that strengthens regional security.
He further announced that Tehran is closely monitoring developments in Syria and will respond accordingly based on the messages it receives.
Baghaei added that Iran is engaging with Syria’s new administration through its allies and various countries.
A couple of days ago, the Iranian foreign minister’s special envoy for Syrian affairs, Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheibani, said Iran has received messages from Syria and maintaining indirect communication with Damascus.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran is indirectly in contact with Damascus, and we have also received messages,” Sheibani confirmed, reflecting Tehran’s continued engagement in Syrian affairs.
Sheibani indicated that Iran is monitoring events in Syria and will determine its course of action at the appropriate time.
“Certainly, the stability and peace of Syria is of special importance to us, and we are against any foreign interference in the affairs of this country,” he emphasized.
