Srinagar– Advisor to the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Nasir Aslam Wani, on Wednesday said that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha should have invited Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for a key security review meeting in Srinagar.
Speaking to reporters, Wani said that Omar Abdullah’s extensive experience in managing law and order situations in the region would have been invaluable to the discussions.
“We have already acknowledged that the Lieutenant Governor is responsible for overseeing law and order. However, in principle, Omar Abdullah should have been invited to the meeting due to his vast experience in handling security matters in Jammu and Kashmir,” Wani said, as per news agency KINS.
The security review meeting, chaired by LG Manoj Sinha at the Police Control Room (PCR) in Kashmir, was attended by senior officials from the Police, Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and other security agencies.
